Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin invited the leaders of Kazan to visit Perm for celebration events of the city’s 300-year anniversary
Representatives of Perm delegation and local self-government bodies of Kazan exchanged experience on development of municipalities
Representatives of local self-government bodies of Perm and Kazan exchanged experience on development of municipalities. The delegation from Perm led by Mayor Aleksey Demkin held on an official visit to Kazan. On January 31, Aleksey Demkin and Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin signed an agreement on cooperation between the cities aimed at developing and strengthening bilateral ties, exchanging experience and expanding cooperation.
In addition, a working meeting of local self-government bodies’ representatives from Perm and of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan was held in the Kazan City Hall, where they exchanged experience of urban development. The session was moderated by Deputy Head of Kazan Municipality Yevgenia Lodvigova.

And we certainly know well Perm, your beautiful city in the Urals. We appreciate your continuous efforts in mutual work, as part of “United cities and local governments” association and Association of Cities of the Volga region. And we have always been in a dialogue,” addressed the guests Yevgenia Lodvigova
In turn, the Mayor of Perm thanked the hosts for the warm reception of the delegation in Kazan and noted that inter-municipal relations and ties promoting exchange of municipalities’ best practices have become more important now than ever.
– I am convinced that Kazan is a promising partner for Perm. Our cities are considered important industrial centers of the country, both having a glorious history and rich cultural life. Perm is celebrating its 300-year anniversary this year. Taking this opportunity, I am pleased to invite the city team of Kazan to come to Perm on this occasion, said Aleksey Demkin.
Colleagues from Kazan shared with the Perm delegation their experience in housing and communal services, housing policy, urban improvement and urban planning. Deputy Head of the Perm Administration Igor Subbotin, Head of the Mayor’s Office Alexander Molkovskikh and Head of the City Department for Ecology and Nature Management Dmitry Andreev presented Perm’s experience in various spheres.
Chairman of the Perm City Duma Dmitry Malyutin spoke of his impressions about the visit to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan:
– “It’s my first time in Kazan and, of course, I am amazed by its development, the attitude of residents to their beloved city, the pace of changes, the strategies that are laid down as fundamental points in the development of the city. Like all my colleagues, I have a positive view of the partnership links between our cities. We do not share a common border, but that does not prevent us from considering each other good neighbours, “ he concluded.
The delegation of Perm has already visited the Kazan Kremlin, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, the «Uram» extreme park, the Republican National Library and the “Black Lake” park. It is also planned to visit the «Khimgrad» techno-polis, Salavat Coopere residential area and various events.
